Singing River
I-10
Pascagoula, MS
Pascagoula, MS
Legends say this river was the site of a mass suicide by the Pascagoula Indian tribe. The tribe was facing enslavement and slaughter from a pending battle against a superior force, so they chose suicide rather than facing defeat. As they marched into the water, they sang a death song and that is the music that can be heard by the river to this day.
