Anchuca Mansion
Vicksburg, MS 39183
This mansion is named for the Choctaw word for "happy home," and is believed to be haunted by "Archie" Archer, a former owner Richard Archer's daughter. Her apparition has been spotted since 1966 wearing a long brown dress in the dining room or parlor. A presence has also been felt in the slaves' quarters as well. Today, the historic mansion is open for tours for those interested in taking a look around.

I remember I was with my family for a vacation and we stopped here. It was before my freshman year in high school, and we stayed two nights there. My parents had heard a ghost whisper really loud in their ears, and I remember seeing a shiloutte or whatever you call it. It was confusing for me to see something like this, and later realizing I saw something lol. Either way, crazy experience but more of a once in a lifetime thing.

Spent 2 nights in September 2016. On 2nd night heard soft female voice telling me over and over to get up. Then I felt something grab my arms and scream get up. Woke up swinging my arms fighting. Never felt something so real. Couldn't go back to sleep.
